Yvonne Strahovski Voices Batwoman in Batman: Bad Blood

At this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego, DC introduced a new animated movie called Batman: Bad Blood, which follows the events in prior animated Bat films Son of Batman and Batman vs. Robin.
Jason O’Mara (Resident Evil: Extinction) is returning to voice Batman, along with Morena Baccarin (Firefly) as Talia al Ghul, Sean Maher (Firefly) as Nightwing, and Stuart Allan as Robin.
While we haven’t received much information on plot details, TV Insider has officially debuted an image of Batwoman, who will be a new addition to the Bat family in this particular series.

Katherine Kane will be Batwoman’s alter ego in this film, and Yvonne Strahovski of Chuck fame will voice her. (Yvonne fans rejoice! She’s officially a comic book heroine. Now we just have to get her on Marvel’s radar for Carol Danvers, am I right?)

According to Strahovski, we have a lot to look forward to with Katherine Kane/Batwoman in the film. “It was fun to play around with the sarcasm, and the sass, and the feistiness of her,” she said in an exclusive sneak peak video released online.

We know that Kane’s life was saved by Batman years earlier. As a result, she was inspired to kick bad guy ass, as well. We also know that she does not share Batman’s reluctance when it comes to using guns. This will surely be a point of contention between the two throughout the film. We have so much good Bat-banter to look forward to!
Gaius Charles (Friday Night Lights) is also joining the voice cast as Batwing/Luke Fox, and his father Lucius Fox is voiced by Ghostbusters great Ernie Hudson!

Batman: Bad Blood is set for release on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD in early 2016, followed by Justice League vs. Titans (exciting news for Teen Titans fans!) and Batman: The Killing Joke later on in the year.

Yvonne Strahovski fans can catch her in The Astronaut Wives Club, currently airing Thursday nights at 8 pm on ABC! (And hopefully you can also catch her as Carol Danvers sometime in the future, because we all know she’d be perfect. GET ON THAT, MARVEL.)
