WWE 2K15 to Feature CM Punk and John Cena Feud

by: Ricky Strong

The WWE 2K15 roster reveal is right around the corner (August 16th) but 2K Games released new information today regarding their new WWE wrestling game. CM Punk will not only be in the game, but his feud with John Cena is part of the most significant single player feature in the game. This is huge news because CM Punk quit the WWE earlier this year, and his contract was not renewed when it expired in July.

This new single player mode plays off the beloved 30 years of Wrestlemania mode from WWE 2K14. The new game mode, 2K Showcase features two rivalries, John Cena v CM Punk during 2011-2013 and Triple H v Shawn Michaels during 2002-2004 with more rivalries available at a later date via downloadable content. The rivalries consist of 33 matches with interviews and promos trying to portray the rivalry just like it played out on television. Here is a snippet of the press release from 2k:

2K today announced details of 2K Showcase, the story-driven single-player campaign in WWE® 2K15, the forthcoming release in the flagship WWE video game franchise. Through high quality cinematics and historic WWE footage, players will intimately explore two notable WWE rivalries: the bitter rivalry between Triple H® and Shawn Michaels® from 2002 to 2004, as well as WWE 2K15 cover Superstar John Cena® and CM Punk®’s spirited rivalry spanning 2011 to 2013.

WWE 2K15 also features WCW star Sting, whom is appearing in his first WWE videogame. Sting is currently a preorder exclusive.

WWE 2K15 will be released in North America on October 28, 2014 and in Europe on October 31, 2014 on PlayStation 3, XBOX 360, PlayStation 4, and XBOX ONE.
