Have you fallen behind on your nerd news? Don’t worry; we’re here to help! Here are a few stories to bring up at the water cooler this week:
Despite earlier announcing plans for only four DLCs, Injustice: Gods Among Us will be getting another character sometime soon. The game’s season pass covers Lobo, Batgirl, Scorpion, and General Zod and there’s no word on who’s the newest character, or any beyond that, will be. Who are you hoping joins the fold?
DC Comics has debuted an all-digital comic based on the 1966 Batman TV show starring Adam West. It is also the company’s first title under the new DC² format, which is said to be the “next level” of digital comics. Like DC’s other digital-first releases, the comic will also be available in print starting July 17.
Nintendo has revealed plans to release two Pokemon X & Y-themed 3DS XLs. Coming in a “Xerneas and Yveltal Blue” and “Premium Gold” version, the games will include a 4GB SDHC memory card, stylus and six AR cards. Currently they will only be available in Japan and are slated to come out October 12.
At Image Expo 2013, news came out that many prominent writers and creators at Marvel are launching several new series together at Image Comics. Additionally, Image’s biggest series, The Walking Dead, will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a biweekly story called “All Out War” starting in October. Also announced were their plans to publish a U.S. translation of Noah, a graphic novel currently being made into a movie directed by Darren Aronofsky and starring Russell Crowe.
Christian Bale has confirmed he will not be Batman in the upcoming Justice League movie. He previously stated he would only come back if Christopher Nolan were to be involved, which Nolan has said won’t happen. David S. Goyer (Man of Steel, The Dark Knight) corroborated their news, noting Justice League’s Batman will be a character reboot. No report on when the aforementioned movie will be happening either.
