Tangled fans, rejoice!  Exciting news was just released for fans of Disney’s Tangled…the long-awaited TV series has finally gotten a release date, and even better yet, we’re getting a movie to boot.  As the movie title suggests, Tangled: Before Ever After is supposed to follow Rapunzel and Eugene and the adventures they find themselves in before their marriage in the 2012 short, Tangled Ever After.

Plenty of familiar faces will be coming back: Pascal, Maximus, the Pub Thugs, and finally, Rapunzel’s parents—the King and Queen of Corona, who apparently will finally have a voice.  Newcomers will include Rapunzel’s friend and lady-in-waiting, Cassandra.

Of course, the beloved team comprised of Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi will be coming back for voice-overs of Rapunzel and Eugene.  Julie Bowen will be lending her voice for Queen Arianna, and Clancy Brown will voicing King Frederic.  That’s right: we not only have voices for the King and Queen, but names too!

A slew of other recurring guest actors will also be coming to the show: Laura Benanti (Astra on Supergirl), Pat Carroll (the voice of Ursula), Jonathan Banks (Mike Ehrmantraut on Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad), Steve Blum (Star Wars Rebels), and James Monroe Iglehart (the Broadway adaptation of Aladdin) are only a few.  The cast list reveals some pretty interesting characters that will be coming to the Tangled family, including Hook Hand’s brother “Hook Foot”, a friend of Eugene’s, and a teenage alchemist and his father.

The animated movie and TV series will be animated in a more “traditional” version, kind of like what was seen in the credits of Tangled –kind of a hand-drawn, 2D look.  It will not be full CGI, unlike other shows such as Elena of Avalor or Sofia the First.  This was at first met with a little skepticism from those who want to see the elaborate detail over the 2D animation.  However, anyone who is excited to see Tangled finally make a comeback will be ecstatic to explore the new storylines.

Set your DVRs!  The animated TV movie, Tangled: Before Ever After, is set to premiere on Disney Channel March 10th (Friday), at 8pm EST.  March 24th (also a Friday) at 7:30pm EST will mark the premiere episode of Tangled: The Series
