Walking With Dinosaurs Barry Cook Interview

The Nerd Machine recently had the privilege to speak with Barry Cook, director of the upcoming film Walking with Dinosaurs. Cook spent time answering questions about the scientific accuracies surrounding the film, working with animated voice actors and learning about dinosaurs during the making of the film. Walking with Dinosaurs combines real scenic footage with stunning computer generated graphics to deliver an incomparable performance. The film features the voices of John Leguizamo, Justin Long and Karl Urban, among others. The film debuted at the Dubai International Film Festival and is set to debut in theaters on December 20. The film is produced by BBC Earth and distributed by 20th Century Fox.
Barry Cook was born in Nashville, Tennessee where he began making films and making caricatures as a child. His love for filmmaking carried on when he moved to California to study film. Cook served as an effects animator for the films TRON and The Little Mermaid and also directed Mulan and Arthur Christmas. He also worked on Aladdin, The Rescuers Down Under and the Captain EO short film that is featured at Disneyland in Anaheim.
