Teaser Trailer for Riddick

by MJ Krey

Vin Diesel has released the  first teaser trailer for Riddick. Set for release on September  6th, the third movie in the Sci-Fi series finds the hard-assed anti-hero  stranded on a desert planet facing a predatory race of aliens. Although,  if he is on their planet, isn’t he the alien?

Two ships  answer the emergency beacon Diesel’s character has activated. One ship  is captained by a mysterious man, played by Karl Urban (Star Trek, Dredd) , from  Riddick’s past, and the other ship contains bounty hunters, including  Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar  Galactica) as a high-tech  mercenary sent to find everyone’s favorite Furyan.

The film  is directed by David Twohy, who also wrote the screenplay. Twohy’s other  writing credits include The Chronicles  of Riddick, The Fugitive, and Waterworld. He has  directed the previous two films in the Riddick series, as well as 2009’s A Perfect  Getaway.

Riddick is produced by Vin Diesel’s  One Race Productions, and Radar Pictures.

    Hey Nerd Machine!

I’ve always been a little temperamental about the Riddick series, but this trailer may have some promise. I’m surprised you haven’s commented or posted about the trailer for “Elypsium” starring Matt Damon and directed by the director of District Nine, which I though was fantastic. Between the two movies staring characters with no hair, I’m anxious to watch the one with Bourne in the future!

With all the action scifi coming out, I haven’t really seen any scifi comedy other than Red Dwarf to give the genre a different side of the entertainment world. I saw kickstarter and thought you would be interested: “Will you bring Nobility to Life?”. The best way to describe it is right off their website: “Nobility” is a new sci-fi dramedy set 700 years in the future, it’s about the C.A.S. Nobility, Humanity’s most powerful Starship with a crew that’s anything but noble.”

Since this would be a comedy series supported by a scifi fan base, I’m hoping it will force it to stay funny and keep it from getting prematurely cancelled like “Firefly”.

    Here’s their website if you’re interested! I promise you won’t be disappointed : NobilityTheSeries.com.
