The wildly popular vehicle-based soccer video game Rocket League is no longer an exclusively digital release. Rocket League: Collector’s Edition is a new physical copy of the game being sold in gaming stores everywhere, as of this week. I blindly bought the game back in February for my Xbox One and immediately fell in love with it. Rocket League is such a simple game with basic mechanics that manages to be one of the best sports simulators of all-time. It also has some of the most intense and amusing multiplayer experiences. Rocket League is a soccer simulator that features vehicles instead of people. It is available now for PS4, Xbox One and PC. The online multiplayer for the Xbox One and PC editions are cross-compatible, merging and expanding the online experience for each platform.

Rocket League features several different multiplayer modes. For soccer, there is the standard 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3. There is a Snow Day mode that substitutes the soccer ball for a hockey puck on the ice rink; Hoops mode substitutes the soccer ball for a basketball; and Rocket Labs mode that experiments with new maps, altered gravity and other adjusted settings. A ranked competitive mode is available for those who desire a challenge. There is an unlock system in the game for new vehicles, skins, boosts, flags, colors and antennas that can all be used in multiplayer. Four-player splitscreen mode is available for local players as well. For the superhero buffs out there, you can purchase the new Batmobile from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which comes with three Trinity-themed flags! Rocket League is frequently updated and new content is added regularly.

Rocket League®: Collector’s Edition, the critically-acclaimed futuristic sports-action hit, is now available in retail stores for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Developed by Psyonix, the Collector’s Edition combines all the fun and fervor of the original base game, plus all the cars and content found in the highly-popular “Supersonic Fury,” “Revenge of the Battle-Cars,” and “Chaos Run” DLC packs, plus a “Collector’s Edition Limited Art Print.” The retail version also debuts four brand new vehicles: the anime-inspired, “Esper” and “Masmune,” and the modern re-imaginings of Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars vehicles, “Aftershock” and “Marauder.”

Originally published on Windows PC via Steam and Sony’s PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system via PlayStation™Network‎ in July 2015, Rocket League® most recently released a digital Xbox One version in February 2016. The easy-to-understand controls and high-octane interpretation of association football has become a critical and commercial phenomenon; having won a slew of respected awards, while selling more than five million digital units  and amassing a community of over 18 million players worldwide.

Rocket League®: Collector’s Edition is available at retail stores for $29.99 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
