Red Dead Redemption Coming to Xbox One Through Backwards Compatibility

In possibly the biggest announcement since Backwards Compatibility was announced for the Xbox One, the coveted Western game from Rockstar, Red Dead Redemption, has been set for a BC release tomorrow, July 8th. To add to that excitement, Red Dead Redemption is on sale at the digital Xbox Store for the Ultimate Game Sale this week. The game has already sold a record amount of copies on Amazon and digital. This will likely be the most profitable backwards compatible game for the console. Get it cheap while it lasts.

Prior rumors were circulating that Rockstar was working on a remastered version of the game in addition to a sequel, though it’s more than satisfying enough to have an emulation. Speculation for a sequel has certainly increased since this announcement. Red Dead Redemption took five years for Rockstar to complete, so the company could be at any stage in the sequel’s development right now, or worst case scenario, not working on one. Until an official announcement is made, all we can do is play Red Dead Redemption and hope for the best.
