Netflix gets Chucked

by Marcus Luera

That’s right, Warner Bros. has signed a deal with Netflix that will bring many of their shows to the streaming service provider.  Getting the Netflix treatment first are The West Wing (already on the service), Chuck, and Fringe to follow soon.  Some shows are even bypassing syndication to go directly to Netflix; and current seasons of shows, like Arrow, will be available in the summer.

The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, and other Warner shows have been on Netflix for a while, so it is nice to see shows like Chuck, that we have not seen since they went off the air, finally get a chance to get a new audience.

Disney made a similar deal last month with Netflix, and the result was many of their movies showing up on Netflix within a week.  These arrangements will make getting our favorite shows past and present easier. The Arrested Development experiment could lead to interesting things for some shows. However, a down side could present itself in a possible fight over content between Netflix and Hulu.

These services are easily accessed through all gaming consoles and most Blu-ray players. Stay tuned for the continuing and rapidly changing way we get our TV!
