Have you ever wanted to learn what it feels like to be a S.H.I.E.L.D agent in the Marvel universe? If so, you better get yourself to New York City this summer because Marvel is teaming up with Discovery Times Square and NASA to create Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N (Scientific Training and Tactical Intelligence Operative Network), an interactive exhibit for people of all ages that promises to be like nothing you’ve ever seen before!
Disregarding the fact there is no S.H.I.E.L.D after the events in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, visitors will be able to undergo simulated recruitment training for the organization. Afterward, they will enter S.T.A.T.I.O.N. headquarters where they can read classified intelligence files and studies and see artifacts like Loki’s scepter and the Tesseract. They will also be able to explore the history behind their favorite superheroes like Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, and the Hulk.
Through NASA’s involvement, the science behind the superheroes will also be explained. Patrons can learn how to use Iron Man’s suit, test out Cap’s super soldier abilities for themselves, or find our what happens to Bruce Banner neurologically when he turns into The Hulk.
The exhibit will open in the Discovery Times Square space on May 23 and tickets are available on the venue’s website.
