Gtech AirRAM – Cordless Vacuum of the Future!
by Caleb Paullus (@theurbanraptor)
Are you like me and hate vacuuming, but don’t trust a robot to do it for you? I really don’t like dealing the cord and bags and the general bulk of vacuums, but I know if I get a ROOMBA, it will kill me in my sleep! What is a nerd with a small apartment to do?
The Gtech AirRAM is the solution! It is relatively compact, runs on a rechargeable battery that lasts around 40 minutes of vacuuming and is pretty dang powerful! I was skeptical when I received the vacuum, but this little guy really gets the job done! It even has a data port that you can plug into your computer to figure out how much energy you saved and how many calories you burned (if you are into that sort of thing). I have a mix of linoleum and mid height carpet and the AirRAM had no issues with any of it.
The only thing I didn’t like was how small the bin was. I ended up emptying it twice (not really that big of a deal). However, if it was bigger, then I’m sure the vacuum wouldn’t feel as small or look as sleek. It is something that I can easily get over. It worked fine in my apartment, but I would imagine that a bigger home might have to dump the bin (depending how clean you are) a few more times that I did.
The price point is a little high, but today, we pay for convenience and quality.
All in all, I would definitely recommend this vacuum for someone looking for a powerful device that doesn’t take up much room in their closet and doesn’t want to deal with cords.
