Free Comic Book Day is May 4!

The first Saturday of each May is a nerd’s dream come true – it’s Free Comic Book Day at your local comic book store!

Major comic book publishers like Marvel, DC Comics, Dark Horse Comics, Image, and more have teamed up to give free comic books to the masses in comic book store across the country. This year on May 4, the fine Free Comic Book Day folks are offering a wide range of free comic titles for all ages, including:

Star Wars (Dark Horse Comics)

Infinity (Marvel Comics)

Superman: The Last Son of Krypton #1 (DC Comics)

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (IDW)

Judge Dredd (IDW)

Mass Effect (Dark Horse Comics)

And many, many more! Visit the Free Comic Book Day website for a complete list.

While you’re at the comic book store searching for freebies, consider supporting your shop by talking to someone behind the counter about recommendations for books you might also enjoy. If you’re a fan of watching The Walking Dead, for example, strike up a conversation with the staff and ask if they have suggestions for the best Walking Dead comic books or graphic novels to tide you over until the next season begins.

The number of free titles varies by comic book shop, so be sure to check the store’s policy to find out how many books you can snag. I can’t wait to read the new Superman: The Last Son of Krypton and Molly Danger/Princeless.

What are you planning on grabbing on Free Comic Book Day?
