Dragon Con broke attendance records this year and that is thanks in part to the emphasis the event puts on cosplay.

Officials for the annual pop culture, gaming, sci-fi, and fantasy convention that takes place in Atlanta every Labor Day weekend said it welcomed over 70,000 guests this year. It was hard to walk around without seeing someone in a great cosplay, especially since a parade is thrown to celebrate their costumed accomplishments. Since we all know being a nerd means you’re passionate about something, and these people are clearly passionate about cosplay, I asked a few congoers what being a nerd means to them. Answers varied, but it was clear the sense of community and acceptance is what makes being a nerd so great.

After you check out their answers, let us know what being a nerd means to you, too!
