Next month, comic book shops all across the country will participate in the third annual Halloween ComicFest, a celebration of all things Halloween and horror pop-culture.

This family-friendly event is similar to Free Comic Book Day in that it offers free books, only this time around, they will all have a spooky theme. This year, there are 19 titles available, with twelve full-sized comics and seven mini-comics up for grabs.

Retailers will also be selling Halloween ComicFest mini-comics in packs of 20 copies for fans to purchase and pass out on Halloween to trick-or-treaters.

Furthermore, attendees will be able to participate in what is being billed as “The Greatest Halloween Costume Contest Ever!” There will be five categories in which people can partake and the grand prize winner will receive a $500 shopping spree at their local comic store.
