Despite the fact it leaked online a week before its planned release with an upcoming episode of Agents of SHIELD, Marvel has to be pleased with the performance of the Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer. The company said the trailer received 34.4 million YouTube views in its first 24 hours, with 26.7 million of those coming after Marvel uploaded an official high-resolution version on their official channel post-initial leak.

The previous record-holder was the Iron Man 3 teaser trailer that got 23.14 million views in 24 hours.

As a thank you to fans for breaking viewing records, Marvel will be showing new Age of Ultron footage during this week’s Agents of SHIELD. Tune in to the show this Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET on ABC to see what Marvel is calling “an exclusive piece” from the movie.

Then, on Tuesday, November 4 at 9:00 p.m. ET, watch Marvel 75 Years: From Pulp to Pop! for another peek at Age of Ultron.

These record-breaking numbers for the teaser trailer alone show how anticipated this movie is and no doubt how many records it will break upon its release May 1, 2015.
