Well, hello there, “Picking Favorites” fans! Long time, no see!

We gather together today on this most glorious occasion: the release of the Deadpool movie!  And to commemorate it, all of the guys returned for this week’s episode- yes, all of them.  In fact, Zac and the esteemed guest even joined from New York.  OMG, I KNOW, RIGHT??

You can find this week’s episode on iTunes and Soundcloud.

This Week’s Guest:

Robert Liefeld! (@robertliefeld)

Rob is an artist and writer, but most importantly, the creator of Deadpool, Cable, X-Force, and a bunch of other characters in the Marvel Universe.  He is also a co-founder of Image Comics.  You can look for a cameo by him in Deadpool and learn more about Rob’s creations and projects on his website.  His newest series, “Bloodstrike”, is available through Image Comics now!

Favorite Comic/Favorite Comic Franchise:

(You know, it’s topics like this that make me realize how much I’ve missed Tyler on the podcast.)  With the surging popularity of comics these days and how EFFING spectacular the stories are getting, I think this topic is going to become more and more difficult as times goes on.  But, as usual, our boys are prone to nostalgia and making their choices based on it, so we’ve got some older series’ representation here.  That being said, you can never go wrong with boobs and swords.

Random Notes From Shannon’s Brain

  • The winner of this week’s “Hey, You’re Awesome” Award is… TYLER!!!  Because you know why? I missed him.  AND because apparently he can draw and now I want to see him draw something.
  • Zac was about thisclose to fangirling over Rob, I think.  I mean, he held it together pretty well (coming from someone who does nothing BUT fangirl, A.K.A me), but maybe that was just due to being a little sad still that he isn’t Deadpool.  Sorry, Zac, but at least it’s in good hands!
  • Boobs and swords.  It’s like a medieval Mardi Gras!
  • I am legitimately psyched for Deadpool, guys.  I’ve been playing the video game (slowly, because I’m an AWFUL gamer) and it is everything I’ve ever wanted and more.
  • I literally want Tom Cruise to be Batman just for like, a SECOND, even, just to see Razzle’s reaction.  I’d be a little concerned for his health, to be honest. (He’d be a very short Batman) (SORRY, I HAD TO SAY IT)
  • And SPEAKING of Razzle…

  • Razzle ALSO gets extra points for mentioning Edge of Tomorrow, the Official Movie of the Picking Favorites Podcast.  (I mean, not really, but it SHOULD be.)
