Well, folks, it’s here.  It is officially… THE PREMIERE DAY FOR STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS!!!!  At least here in the States, anyway.  And, of course, you know the guys couldn’t let this day go by without talking a little bit more about our favorite film franchise (yeah, I said it, it’s true).  But before people start treating Star Wars like red Starbucks cups, let’s not forget that it’s also the holiday season- something that’s also represented, as well as some good ol’ childhood nostalgia.  So before you head to your showing of what is totally going to end up the biggest movie opening of all time, let’s recap, shall we?

You can find this week’s episode on iTunes and Soundcloud.

Also, since he mentioned it, make sure to catch Zac on Broadway this spring in Roundabout Theatre’s revival of “She Loves Me”!  Previews begin on February 19th- you can buy tickets and learn more HERE!

And in more host-y news, Razzle is part of new podcast with previous guest Kyle Newman, called “The Franchise”- and this season, it’s all about Star Wars!  You can check it out HERE.

AND, also because it was mentioned, you can buy the TNM Star Wars shirts that Kentucky mentioned HERE and HERE!

This Week’s Guest:

Ana Mulvoy-Ten! (@anamulvoyten)

Ana is an actress that you may know from “House of Anubis”, “Teen Wolf”, or The Girl in the Book.  You can catch The Girl in the Book on iTunes, and keep an eye out for her new show, “Famous in Love”, on Freeform!

Also, here’s more info about Lapland (a.k.a the North Pole of Europe):

Favorite Star Wars Memory

“I sense something.  A presence I’ve not felt since…” Well, since The Phantom Menace, really, but it’s nice to see that so far, people don’t seem to be coming away from The Force Awakens in a disappointed rage, y’know?  But let’s not focus on that, let’s focus on the GOOD memories we have of Star Wars and the awesomeness it’s brought to our lives.

Ana:

Writing Star Wars scripts as a kid

Razzle:

Driving to see a re-release of The Empire Strikes Back in Hoth-esque weather

Kentucky:

Seeing Star Wars at six-years-old and being OBSESSED with Luke Skywalker

Zac:

His toy Millennium Falcon and using the battery compartment for storage/auditioning for The Force Awakens

Favorite Christmas Movie (Animated/Non-Animated)

All right, all right. I’m a bit of a Grinch this time of year, but I WILL admit that there are some really great movies that come out of the holiday season.  I mean, the guys and Ana couldn’t even just stick to the “animated” category in their outpouring of yuletide film appreciation!  That all being said, ugh, Home Alone, stop, what did you DO?

Ana:

Miracle on 34th Street

Home Alone

Love Actually

It’s a Wonderful Life (Zac likes this one, too)

Zac:

The Nightmare Before Christmas

Scrooged

Kentucky:

A Charlie Brown Christmas

Razzle:

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

Extra Mentions:

Home Alone 3

Home Alone 4

Home Alone 5

Favorite Nickelodeon Show

N-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-Nick, Nickelodeon!  Listen, you can take your Spongebob’s and iCarly’s, because Nickelodeon in the late 80’s and early 90’s was the BEST, which is only proven by the creation of another channel dedicated SOLELY to that area (it’s called Splat, if you’re wondering).  So while I mourn the exclusion of “Count Duckula” from the list, get ready for a MAJOR nostalgia trip.  I’ll just be here singing the “David the Gnome” theme song for the rest of the day.

Ana:

“House of Anubis”

Kentucky:

“Ren & Stimpy”

Zac:

“You Can’t Do That on Television”

Razzle:

“David the Gnome”

“Danger Mouse”

“Clarissa Explains It All”

“Double Dare”

Extra Mentions:

“Animaniacs”

“Today’s Special”

“Pinwheel”

Ana slimed on “Figure It Out”

“Bananaman”

“All That”

“Kenan and Kel”

“Are You Afraid of the Dark”

“Eerie, Indiana”

“Eureka”

“Eureka’s Castle”

Random Notes from Shannon’s Brain

  • This week’s winner of the “Hey, You’re Awesome” Award is… ANA MULVOY-TEN!!  And you know why?  Because I, too, was a female Star Wars fan back “before it was cool” and got made fun of MERCILESSLY for my love of it.  So… I FEEL YOU, GURL.  I GOTCHU.  YOU KEEP WRITING THOSE SCRIPTS.
  • My reaction to hearing that Zac auditioned for POSSIBLY Kylo Ren and didn’t get it:

  • I need to give Ana a high-five, because half-Spanish/half-Irish girls that look totally just Irish REPRESENT!!  Although, she’s a generation closer because my invisible Spanish-ness comes from my grandma, so… right, let’s list this under “information that you didn’t really need to know about me but I told you anyway”, okay?
  • We’re officially all saying “slippery-ry” when something’s, like, SUPER slippery, okay?
  • While the guys wanted me to add in the clarification of words that Razzle says that are quite possibly not the right ones he’s looking to use, instead, I’m just going to add that he also ALMOST never uses the word “saw” and nearly always uses “seen”. Which is just another Razzle-ism that makes him the adorable little meerkat that he is.  Aw, Razzle.
  • Speaking of, Charlie-In-The-Box is ALSO my favorite character from “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and I quote his line at LEAST a couple times each holiday season.  Poor Charlie.  But as for the rest of the toys, what snobby kids didn’t want them??  Can we all admit now that the misfit toys were actually the BEST OF TOYS?
  • Petition to have Zac slimed at the next Kid’s Choice Awards? Make this happen, Nickelodeon.
  • I just want to say that Nickelodeon did SUCH a good job with Stick Stickly from summers of “Nick in the Afternoon” that I still remember his “Write To Me” song.  If you’re singing in your head right now, please know that I’m giving you a high five.
  • My heart grew three sizes when Kentucky did his Yukon Cornelius impression.
  • Was Razzle trying to say that Kentucky was as old as Michael Blomkvist from “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo”? I haven’t seen it, but isn’t that freakin’ Daniel Craig in the American version??  I’M CONFUSED HOW IS COMPARING KENTUCKY TO DANIEL CRAIG A BAD THING LIKE HE BASICALLY JUST CALLED HIM JAMES BOND.
