By Shannon Fox, @shannonfox

Great Scott, Picking Favorites fans!  Our guy are back to discuss their pop culture favorites and teach us important lessons about screwing over the Californian Unemployment phone system.  So let’s get this show on the road, shall we?

(You should all be saying, “Roads? Where we’re going, we don’t need roads.” )

Favorite Life Hack

Listen, guys.  Life is hard enough, we SHOULD be allowed to find ways to make it easier, right?  Also, sometimes these hacks explode my brain, like… HOW DID I NOT KNOW THIS BEFORE UGGHHH I’VE WASTED SO MUCH TIME.  So they can sort of be a double-edged sword.  That being said, if you guys have any good life hacks, let us know in the comments!

Random Notes from Shannon’s Brain

  • The winner of this week’s “Hey, You’re Awesome” Award goes to… RAZZLE. Purely for his Kermit the Frog impression.  I love me some Muppets.  And also the fact that he apparently used to be able to do a Dom Deluise impression which I now NEED to hear.  Oh, and how BIZARRE his Howl commercial gets.
  • And now, a new feature on my Random Notes:

  • I refuse to watch The Iron Giant JUST because so many people have told me how sad it is.  Nope, I dealt with Up, I don’t want anything close to that situation again.
  • OKAY NO BUT SERIOUSLY WHERE’S LUKE IN THE FORCE AWAKENS???  And can we all agree that the shot of Leia and Han gave us all of the feels? YOU KNOW IT DID.
  • When I was very little, my dad and I ran into Nicolas Cage.  I was TERRIFIED of him.  In my defense, he’s got kind of a scary smile, okay?
  • I just want to say that I’m really impressed with Mike Capes and his theme park hack.  Like, okay, yes, he lied to cast members and other guests to get what he wanted, but 1) he gave the stuffed animal he tricked a cast member to get to another kid, which was so nice, and 2) he’s giving the proceeds of his t-shirts sales back to that theme park’s charity organization.  I LIKE that, okay?  So maybe go buy a shirt.
