3D Printing Nerd: 3D Printing, Star Wars, and Red Bull

By Joel Telling, @joeltelling

My love for Star Wars goes way, way back to when I was young, and I pointed at an R2-D2 and said, “Dada!” From that point, i was hooked. I’m much older now, but my passion for Star Wars hasn’t changed.

I like energy drinks, with sugar-free Red Bull being my usual drink of choice. I like the taste (don’t you judge me) and it keeps my mind sharp when I’m up late prepping 3d printers or producing content on my YouTube channel.

All I need to do is figure out a way to combine my love of Star Wars, my consumption of Red Bull, and my passion for 3d printing…

BEHOLD: The 3D Printed Darth Vader Red Bull Coozie!

Using Tinkercad, a free online 3d modeling application, I’m able to take a 3d model of Darth Vaders helmet, and cut a Red Bull sized hole in the top. Once the hole is in place, I can load the model on my 3d printer and print it!

That coozie is super cool! Would you be willing to share the file with us so we can make one for our own, or is it pretty straight forward?
